Ældre Agenta vase i keramik (ca. 1930), designet af Wilhelm Kåge for Gustavsberg, 90 år gl. Ældre keramik vase fra Agenta serien med en smuk form designet af Wilhelm Kåge for Gustavsberg. Vasen er hånddrejet og lavet af hvidt Carrara stentøj med den ikoniske turkisgrønne Argenta glasur. Kåge skabte Agenta serien til udstilling i 1930. Vasen er i virkelig flot og fejlfri stand - ingen skår, ridser, revner eller lign. Vasen er 11 cm. høj og 12,5 cm. i diameter. Vægt: 350 gram Wilhelm Kåge blev født den 6. marts i 1889. Han uddannede sig til keramiker, designer og kunstner og var en fremtrædende figur i svensk keramisk designs historie i det 20. århundrede. I 1917 tog ledelsen på Gustavsberg kontakt til Kåge og bad ham om at arbejde midlertidigt for dem. Hans arbejde gjorde at Gustavsberg vandt den kommende Baltiska kunstudstilling. Frem til ca. 1925 er Kåge deltidsansat på Gustavsberg. Han bruger den overskydende tid til at rejse rundt i verden og samle inspiration. Fra ca. 1925 var Kåge fuldtidsansat på Gustavsberg. Han var kunstnerisk leder på Gustavsberg i 1930'erne og 1940'erne og han betragtes som den svenske modernismes pioner. Kåge tog initiativ til at stifte Gustavsberg Atelier sammen med Stig Lindberg og Bernt Friberg. I 1949 overdrog han rollen som kunstnerisk leder til sin kollega Stig Lindberg. I 1950 blev Kåge udnævnt til professor, han fortsatte dog med sit atelierarbejde på Gustavsberg indtil 1960, hvor han blev tvunget til at stoppe pga. sygdom. Den 25. november 1960 døde han af kræft. Kåges kunstgenstande er repræsenteret i Nationalmuseet og Det Kongelige Bibliotek i Stockholm, Kunstindustrimuseerne i Oslo, København, Wien, Budapest og Prag samt i Metropolitan Museum i New York. Older ceramic vase from the Agenta series with a beautiful shape designed by Wilhelm Kåge for Gustavsberg. The vase is hand-turned and made of white Carrara stoneware with the iconic turquoise-green Argenta glaze. Kåge created the Agenta series for exhibition in 1930. The vase is in really beautiful and flawless condition - no chips, scratches, cracks or the like. The vase is 11 cm. high and 12,5 cm. in diameter. Weight: 350 grams. Wilhelm Kåge was born on March 6, 1889. He trained as a ceramicist, designer and artist and was a prominent figure in the history of Swedish ceramic design in the 20th century. In 1917, the management of Gustavsberg contacted Kåge and asked him to work temporarily for them. His work led Gustavsberg to win the upcoming Baltiska art exhibition. Until about 1925, Kåge was part-time employed at Gustavsberg. He uses the surplus time to travel around the world and gather inspiration. From about 1925, Kåge was fully employed at Gustavsberg. He was artistic director at Gustavsberg in the 1930s and 1940s and is considered the pioneer of Swedish modernism. Kåge initiated the founding of Gustavsberg Atelier together with Stig Lindberg and Bernt Friberg. In 1949, he handed over the role of artistic director to his colleague Stig Lindberg. In 1950, Kåge was appointed professor, but he continued his studio work at Gustavsberg until 1960, when he was forced to stop due to illness. On November 25, 1960, he died of cancer. Kåge's art objects are represented in the National Museum and the Royal Library in Stockholm, the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Oslo, Copenhagen, Vienna, Budapest and Prague, as well as in the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
